Anonymous, circa 4th-5th centuries. Amulet (Lead, 24x22 mm, 5.59 g, 12 h). The sacrifice of Isaac: Abraham standing right, his head turned to left, holding dagger in his uplifted right hand and placing his left on Isaac kneeling before him; to left, Hand of God and ram standing left, head turned to right; all within linear frame within rectangular frame decorated with dots. Rev. ЄIC ΘЄOC / O BOHΘⲰ / EVΛOΓIA ('The One God - The Helper (?) - Blessing') in three lines within linear rectangular frame within dotted border. A highly interesting early Christian amulet. Very fine.
